Wii Fit Reviews
From LoveToKnow VideoGames
Most of the Wii Fit reviews that have been published since the release of the game have been positive. The Wii Fit comes with a balance board and a number of exercise, balance, and strength activities to improve your health. As long as you don’t go over the Wii Fit weight limit, then you can get into shape playing Nintendo's newest creation. Check out some of the reviews below from a number of video game sites.
Game Focus – Canada
Game Focus gave Wii Fit an 8.9, which is absolutely favorable. They enjoyed the variety of games and the achievement of how the Wii Fit balance board worked in conjunction with the game. In order to gain significant improvements in your health and scores, you have to become a rigorous player, according to the writer. Game Focus recommends purchasing Wii Fit right away.
Cubed Reviews – UK
One of the highest Wii Fit reviews you will find on the Internet is from Cubed3. They also loved the way the balance board interacted with the games and activities, and recommends that you don't just utilize the solo experience. The game can support up to 8 players with one copy of the game.
Gameshark Wii Fit Reviews
Gameshark gave Wii Fit a mediocre score. The mini-games were fun and the balance board is a great tool, but that's about it. They were one of the few websites that actually didn't like the interface of the balance board and the game. Gameshark was brutal on the actual way the game represented your stats. While you might be 150 pounds, it's possible that the Wii Balance Board reads a different number and puts you over the Wii Fit weight limit. This is easily the least positive of the Wii Fit reviews.
Game Informer Online
Game Informer's biggest compliment was the balance board. It picked up the range of motions nicely and registered each step and movement with precision. As with most Wii Fit reviews, you will find that Wii Fit isn't the end-all of exercise games, but it will at least get you up and moving.
Acegamez
They loved the hardware and hated some of the games. Acegamez was really disappointed that most of the mini-games worked on balance rather than strength. They hated the lack of aerobic exercises, but loved that at least some of the games were fun. In the end, they touted it as a novelty game with novelty equipment.
Game Revolution
One of the worst Wii Fit reviews you encounter is from Game Revolution. If anything, they claim, "Wii Fit is a posture improvement program". The BMI is attacked greatly in the review because it has nothing to do with anything, unless you're getting life insurance, which is what Nintendo's BMI is based from. What else they hated:
- Navigating the menu
- No option to make your own exercise games
- Using basic movements in real life don’t work; you have to adjust to the game, which could be uncomfortable.
- Aerobics activities very, very lacking
Game Revolution game Wii Fit a 58, or a C+ in their book and they predict that most people will hit the game hard in the first few months, then finally just pack it up like Nintendo's Power Pad.
Kombo
With an average Wii Fit review, Kombo believes that Wii Fit is a great tool to get you motivated if you are want to start an exercise routine. While there are lots of fun games, Wii Fit does not do a good job in guiding you to which game or activity you should do next. It will get you off your butt, get you moving, and most likely motivate you to do more outside your house.
Is Wii Fit For You?
There are a lot of agreements of what is good about Wii Fit and what is lacking in Wii Fit. The bottom line on most Wii Fit reviews is that you shouldn't rely on the game to be your entire exercise routing or rely on it to lose 100 pounds. There are other activities that can help you with that, like Dance Dance Revolution, for example.
