Wii Fit Balance Board Covers
From LoveToKnow VideoGames
Wii Fit Balance Board covers are protective sleeves for the Balance Board the comes with the Wii Fit game for the Nintendo Wii. They cover the board in the same manner as the Wii Remote covers do to absorb shock and keep it clean, slowing down the wear and tear of the Balance Board.
Neo Fit
The Neo Fit by dreamGEAR is a neoprene cover that sits on top of the Balance Board to give you a more soft feeling for your feet. It sits freely on the board so the use of adhesive tape is recommended so the cover doesn't move or curl up on the corners.
More information is available at Dreamgear.
Official Wii Fit Balance Board Covers
If you want to have covers that match the clear covers for the Wiimote, then purchase an official Wii Fit Balance Board cover made from silicon material. The cover is made to fit tight over the Balance Board so it doesn't slip or bunch up. There are holes for the stands under the Board and a small cutout for access to the power button. If you need to change the batteries, you will have to take the cover completely off the Board, just like you do with the Wiimote covers.
The covers are a little tough to get on because of the material they are made of, but once you get it on once, it's a little easier the next time.
The official Wii Fit Balance Board covers come in multiples colors:
- Pink
- Clear
- Blue
- Glow in the Dark (greenish)
Covers from Japan
If you are into importing and want something that looks a little cooler, then order the Balance Board cover from [www.jtt.ne.jp|Japan Trust Technology] (you'll need to use Google Translate to read it in English, so just search JTT in Google then click on "translate this page").
This cover is only available in blue, but what makes it different is that there are shapes of feet on either side of the middle that are represented by small little nubs. This is meant to stimulate your feet so they don't get sore. They also help to keep your feet centered so you don't have to keep looking down to ensure you are still in a good position on the Board.
Cleaning the Balance Board Covers
The covers are meant to keep the Balance Board safe and clean, but the covers themselves might get a little dirty, especially if you have the clear one. If you have the silicone covers, the easiest way is to soak them in warm soapy water, then wipe away the dirt or whatever else. Let it sit to dry for about 30 minutes before putting it back on the Board.
For the neoprene covers, you will most likely just need to remove fuzz or little dust collections. You can use a lint brush or a duster to clean those. There may not be a need, but you can wash the neoprene covers in a washing machine. Don't use a dryer to dry them because you might run the risk of shrinking the cover. Just let it sit out.
Decorations
For a little variety, decorate the Wii Fit Balance Board cover with some stickers or stamping. Obviously don't do this in the middle of the board where you do most of the work, but do it on the side, front or back. The stickers should stick nicely and if you have the special recharger for the Wii Fit board, you'll never have to take the cover off, thereby compromising the integrity of the stickers.
You Need to Get One
It is recommended to get Balance Board covers if you have the Wii Fit. The cover helps protect your feet as well as the Board. It also helps to keep the Board clean from dirt and the sweat that probably drips off during intense yoga and cardio workouts (and the Hula Hoop exercise). No? Then, you aren't using Wii Fit correctly.
