Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were Rabbit Profile

From LoveToKnow VideoGames

Wallace and Gromit are the stars of a series of three animated short films and one feature length film. Wallace is a cheese-loving inventor of crazy gadgets, while Gromit is his silent (but intelligent) pup. Wallace and Gromit are one of the few films to use stop-motion animation and clay figures (claymation). Using bits of modeling clay on wire frames, the animators painstakingly move each figure for each frame of the film. Few other movies or video games use this medium, notable exceptions are "The Nightmare Before Christmas" and "Clayfighters".

Now, Konami is ready to unveil a new video game based on the feature film of the same name. Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox systems. It's more cheese than you can handle, that's for sure.

Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit Story

The story is as simple and wacky as any Wallace and Gromit film. A gigantic were-rabbit monster is threatening entries into the Giant Vegetable Competition which, of course, Wallace and Gromit plan to enter. Joined by their rabbit pal Hutch, the pair must protect their veggies from the rampaging vegetarian beast.

Along the way, Wallace and Gromit will travel to many locations and get a chance to utilize some of Wallace's wacky inventions and gadgets. Konami has promised a free-roaming environment for players to explore, along with some minigames to boot.

The creator and director of Wallace and Gromit, Nick Park, played a key role in the making of the Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit video game.

"The game has given us the opportunity to create a more adventurous environment for the characters. Deeper storylines, that couldn't be accommodated in the film, have been developed are there ready to be explored. The Were-Creatures, for example, was a theme we would have loved to include in the film. I'm delighted to say that they are here in the game."

Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit Gameplay

While ridding your town of the were-pests, Wallace and Gromit will have a number of other challenges to surmount. Many of these jobs involve capturing hordes of rabbits by finding vacuum vents to suck them into... well, wherever they lead.

Got a friend handy? Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit supports two player simultaneous play. Cooperate with your buddy to tackle the vicious were-rabbits. Even if you go at it solo you can switch between characters to get the job done.

Depending on the time of day your character choice will vary. Gromit is the main worker and is always around, while Wallace only shows his mug in the sunlight. Hutch, your helpful non-evil bunny pal, will accompany Gromit at night. Each character has different strengths and abilities that can be used to traverse the land.

And Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit isn't only for fans of the British duo. There's enough free-roaming gameplay, nutty stunts and contraptions to keep any gamer's tongue planted firmly in cheek. Look for Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit this fall.
