Virtual Video Game Women in Playboy
From LoveToKnow VideoGames
Stripping Sirens
Can't get enough of your favorite video game heroines? Wish you could see a little more of them? The October issue of Playboy Magazine is here to help you out. For the second year running, Playboy is featuring eight of the most popular virtual vixens from the video game world in the pages of their magazine.
The heroines are…um… unmasked and unclad in the adult male-oriented magazine's digital issue. While the bunnies of Playboy may sometimes be enhanced, this issue's women are all-digital and all silicone… um, I mean silicon. The pictorial was expanded for this year's issue, based on the popularity of the spread in last year's video game issue.
Nude Trading Cards
Playboy has also done an innovative printing with this video game babe-devoted issue. The characters' pictures are printed on removable cards, similar to trading cards. October's Playboy will run two versions of the feature, each with only four of the pictures. Fans will have to buy the magazine twice (there are no other differences between the two versions!) if they want all eight of the cards, or they can trade with their friends. Another reason to get the whole set? The eight collectible images can be turned over and combined to form a larger image.
And, yes, in answer to your inevitable question, they are all nude.
Who Do We See?
So, who are the digital game babes we'll be getting to peek at? There will be women featured from each of the following games:
- Indigo Prophecy (Atari)
- Blitz: The League (Midway)
- God of War (Sony)
- 50 Cent: Bulletproof
- Playboy: The Mansion – Private Party
- Darkwatch
- Hellgate: London
Digital Playboy Girls of Last Year
Last year's video game character feature in Playboy featured Bloodrayne from the game of the same name by Majesco as well as characters from Mortal Kombat, Tekken and Red Ninja.
Sex, Magazines and Video Games
The presence of sex in video games has been in the news lately with the disclosures about the consensual sex scenes in Grand Theft Auto
In case you're impatient, you can already access the October issue online and get a look at the girls. The magazine charges $4.99 for Internet access to a single issue.
Certainly sexy video game women have been featured in magazines before, but Playboy's adult audience makes it unique for its ability to run the nude pictures of the popular characters.
Playboy's publisher is banking on video game fans heading to the news stands to buy the issue – for the articles, right?
