Video Game Spoofs
From LoveToKnow VideoGames
Video game spoofs and parodies have been around nearly as long as video games, but they have become much more popular in this technological age where people can freely upload funny videos onto such websites as Google Video and YouTube. There, people freely share their video game spoofs, mostly with hilarious live action re-enactments of video game moments or with movies inspired by popular titles. On other sites, you may find some Flash-based animations doing the same.
Video Game Spoofs
Below is a short collection of what we believe to be some of the funniest, best, and most insightful video game spoofs freely available on the internet.
Live Action Mario Re-Enactment
Mario is probably the best known video game character ever made, and we can all thank Shigeru Miyamoto and the rest of the Nintendo team for developing such a memorable plumber. It may have started out with Donkey Kong, but it was with Super Mario Bros. for the original NES that most people got to know our little carpenter friend in red overalls. This live action re-enactment is one of the greatest video game spoofs we have ever seen and a big congratulations has to go out to the people at Gordon College for putting it together.

Metal Gear Solid: The Unofficial Movie
Created by a group of Metal Gear Solid fans in Taiwan, the following movie trailer is one of the most professional-looking video game spoofs I have ever seen. It's not designed to be funny, though you might have a chuckle or two. They did a fantastic job with the costumes, camera work, and just about every element that is needed in a world class movie trailer.

Double Dragon: 18 Years Later
Anyone who grew up playing the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) would have surely encountered the famous Double Dragon series. The beat-em-up title was an instant success with button mashers clear across the world, but one has got to wonder: what ever happened to those two brothers who were featured in Double Dragon? Well, in this video game spoof, we discover that they have taken some rather boring desk jobs, but a day at the office is anything but normal.
How Not To Be Seen in Halo
The name "Monty Python" is synonymous with hilarious British comedy and this Halo video game spoof is no exception. Currently one of the most popular videos on YouTube, you'll discover how to not be seen when participating in a frag war.
