A Bit about Trivial Pursuit’s History
So how did this game begin anyway? The idea was inspired by Canadian photo editor Scott Abott and Chris Haney, a sports journalist. The two friends were fiercely competitive and argued over who was the best game player when they came up with the idea to create their own game. Their idea was to create a board game that would challenge its players with trivia on various different subjects. Today, there are several different Trivial Pursuit editions aside from the original Genus: Baby Boomer, Young Players, All-Sports, Silver Screen, TV, 1980’s, The Vintage Years, All-American, and Millennium. In addition, other specialized editions have also been created. If you’re a fan of Star Wars, Lord of the Rings or Saturday Night Live (SNL), you will be in trivia heaven.
