The Matrix: Path of Neo is the game that all fans of the series have been waiting for. Experience Neo’s journey from a lost soul in the Matrix to become “The One” who will save Zion and the human race.

Your story begins where Neo first meets Morpheus, who gives you the opportunity to find out what the Matrix is, or stay in your artificial reality. (Of course you will choose the red pill, right?) You are then put through a series of intense training to prepare you for fighting the forces against Zion. Do you have what it takes to become the One? Experience all Neo’s challenges and trials. Will you succeed where he failed? Play and find out!

Difficulty

There are a couple levels of difficulty to choose from: Easy (Disciple), and Normal (Master). Learning the game is easy with the helpful pop ups that instruct you how to do all the moves. During the training phase, there are also verbal instructions that enhance your play as well.

Fun Factor

Playing The Matrix: Path of Neo is a lot of fun. You will learn how to walk on walls, stop bullets, and move lightning fast. All the cool moves are there. When you see yourself in combat with that famous “slow motion” (bullet-time) view that shows you some of the more complex combos, you will be amazed.

One of your first tasks in the game is to escape from Matrix with the guidance of Morpheus. In the movie, Neo gets captured. The cool thing about this game is that you can make your own choices in the most challenging situations. It was fun to escape the high-rise building where Neo was “working” in the Matrix.

During the game there is a lot of intense training. It may get a little tiring for some people. The training levels will seem endless at first, but be patient. Once completed, you will be prepared to go against Agents and other enemies that work with the Matrix.

Graphics

The graphics in The Matrix: Path of Neo are pretty slick. Motion and action moves are smooth. Complex combos are amazing to watch. The game is also enhanced with many important clips from the blockbuster Matrix movies. The only gripe I have about the graphics is that sometimes the camera view can be a little temperamental during some crucial situations.

Audio

Sound effects are pretty good. The weapons sound exactly like those in the movies. Dialog is mostly given from voices that closely resemble the actors in the films. The background music is good, but I would have liked it to be from the original movie soundtrack. The game is also enhanced with Matrix movie dialog.
