Tetris Game to Play
From LoveToKnow VideoGames
Probably one of the best ways to pass a lazy Sunday afternoon is to find a Tetris game to play. Because the popular puzzle video game has been around for so long, there are countless Tetris games for you to enjoy.
Find a Tetris Game to Play
No matter which video game system you happen to own, there's a good chance that you'll find a version of Tetris to play. This is also true of many consumer electronics, including the iPod and your home PC. Seeing how it is consistently rated as one of the most addictive puzzle games of all time and one of the top video games that never get old, it should really come as little surprise that Tetris is so prevalent, even to this day.
Play Tetris on Current Systems
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. That seems to be the optimal strategy behind the versions of the popular line-forming game that you'll find on current-generation gaming consoles. When you look at Tetris Evolution on the Xbox 360, for example, you'll find that the core gameplay remains much the same -- rotate different shaped blocks and fit them together to form complete lines -- even though there are eight modes of play and a new soundtrack.
The same can be said about Tetris DS on the Nintendo DS. Again there are additional game modes that provide a different take on the classic Tetris formula, but it's the original style of gameplay that is by far the most popular among both hardcore and casual gamers. This is heavily added by the implementation of the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, letting you play with up to three other Tetris fanatics from around the world. And yes, these international games are 100% free.
Tetris on Classic Consoles
Contrary to popular belief, not everyone buys the latest video game system the moment it hits the market. As a result, you may not be the proud owner of a Nintendo Wii. That doesn't mean that you can't enjoy some classic block-dropping action on your big screen TV! For a very small investment, you can have a classic console like the NEs or SNES and find a Tetris game to play.
In fact, the version of Tetris on the original Nintendo Entertainment System is widely applauded as one of the best iterations in the series, thanks to its colorful graphics and addicting soundtrack. Most gamers will also point toward the Game Boy version as the Tetris that got the most play during their childhood.
Alternative Games
As if playing on conventional game consoles wasn't enough, the game of Tetris can also be found on a number of other portable electronics. For example, it doesn't take much to find the game for cell phones and Windows Mobile smartphones. For the latter, there is a unofficial freeware version called Kevtris that is particularly well designed.
Owners of many Apple iPod portable music players can also enjoy Tetris on their mobile entertainment device. You'd be surprised where this puzzle game presents itself!

You can't really beat the price of free. Tetris and variations thereof can be found for free online, granting you access to the block-rotating and line-forming action anywhere you have an Internet connection. Here are a few websites where you can play Tetris free online.
