Super Smash Bros. Brawl Characters
From LoveToKnow VideoGames
Perhaps one of the most appealing aspects of this fighting game is the variety of Super Smash Bros. Brawl characters available at your disposal. Each combatant brings something special to the arena. It is only here that you will be able to pit some of the best known Nintendo superstars against one another.
About the Super Smash Bros. Brawl Characters
Like previous games in the Super Smash Bros franchise, Super Smash Bros. Brawl offers an increasingly large roster of combatants. In fact, there are over 30 different characters in this fighting game.
Ready to Brawl from the Beginning
From the first moment that you boot up this game, you have access to the following Super Smash Bros. Brawl characters:
- Mario: What flagship game would be complete without Mario? He is the superstar plumber with an all-around skill set.
- Bowser: Mario's nemesis is back again. Easily one of the most powerful characters in the game, you'll really be able to throw your weight around with Bowser.
- Fox: The protagonist from the Star Fox series of games, Fox McCloud is well equipped with his blaster and flying kicks.
- Ice Climbers: Why enter battle with just one combatant when you can fight with two? The Ice Climbers pair work in tandem to deliver you to victory.
- Ike: A masterful swordsman from Fire Emblem, Ike knows what he's doing when he's slashing you down with his blade.
- Meta Knight: Kirby's arch-nemesis is bad to the bone. Don't let his tiny stature deceive you, because Meta Knight has no qualms about cutting you up with his crazy sword.
- Olimar: Some people may think that this spacesman from the Pikman franchise is little more than a cutie, but he can use those Pikmin to his advantage too.
- Peach: Typically known as the damsel in distress, Princess Peach is now ready to do a little battling of her own. Watch out for that wicked parasol.
- Samus Aran: Peach isn't the only girl brawler. Samus was made famous in the Metroid games, dropping bombs and blasting away with the gun on her arm. Super Smash Bros. Brawl also marks the debut of Zero Suit Samus, where she ditches her spacesuit in favor of an energy whip.
- Wario: Easily one of the most disgusting characters in the game, Wario likes to pass gas and ride his bike.
- Yoshi: Sticking out his tongue and hurling eggs at his enemies, Yoshi isn't your average green dinosaur.
Unlockable Characters
A big part of the fun here comes from unlocking as many Super Smash Bros. Brawl characters as you can. As if the original roster were not enough to whet your combative whistle, this title also grants you the opportunity to add even more fighters to the arena. For example:
- Captain Falcon: Considering that he was in both of the first two Smash Bros. games, you knew that this F-Zero racer would be back for this iteration. Falcon Fire! Falcon Punch!
- Ganondorf: Link and Zelda have been fighting this evil demon-like character for a very long time and it seems that they just can't get rid of him. Rightfully so, because Ganondorf packs quite the wallop.
- Jigglypuff: This singing pink puff of a Pokemon is back for yet another sessions of super smashing. Don't get caught in his lullaby, because he will put you to sleep... and then beat the tar out of you.
- Luigi: Mario's under-appreciated brother bumbles his way into the Smash Bros. arena, flailing his arms around and kicking his enemies to the curb.
- R.O.B.: Remember this guy from the old Gyromite game on the Nintendo Entertainment System? Just as he was able to race around in Mario Kart Wii, R.O.B. can do battle here as well.
Dream Matches Galore!
With so many Super Smash Bros. Brawl characters from so many legendary video game franchises, there really is no shortage of possible fighting scenarios. Ever wonder who would win in a fight between Sonic the Hedgehog and Solid Snake? How about a four-way dance between Toon Link, Star Wolf, King Dedede, and Diddy Kong? Wonder no longer, because you can set that up in this fantastic fighting game.
