Ridge Racer for PSP Cheat Codes and Hints
From LoveToKnow VideoGames
Beautiful graphics, pumping sound, pure arcade racing: can you complete the game 100% and call yourself the Ridge Racer master? Maybe, but take a look at the hints below to help you on your way.
Hints
To unlock the Max Tour challenges, you must complete all of the EX tours.
To get unlimited Nitros, hold the select button as you hit ‘OK’ at the track confirmation screen in single or time attack mode.
At the starting line, rev you engine and keep the needle just before the red on your RPM meter. When the countdown hits “Go!” you’ll get a quick start, which send you speeding instead of accelerating.
General Driving Tips
Don’t be afraid to use the inside line on your opponents. There is no damage to the cars, so the worst that could happen is you miss the car. The best thing is that you careen off your opponent gaining a place.
This might sound like common sense, but don’t forget about your nitro. Use it one straight-ways for the most efficient use of Nitros. If you have to, use a nitro coming out of a sharp turn to get your speed back up.
Beating the Max Tours
There’s really nothing much you can do. Don’t make mistakes. Know the tracks like the back of your hand, especially how sharp the turns are. Use the Apex driving technique to take sharp turns (Apex has you coming wide into a turn and cutting in so you exit the turn on the inside portion of the turn).
As far as your opponents, they are flawless. Try to select a car that has 3 Nitros already in the tank and get a good jump off the starting line. You’ll want to keep up in the beginning. You might be able to overtake the first 2 cars in the first lap, but don’t count on it. What you have to do is use a nitro to pass a car and continuously block that car as it will try to regain the position. Let it bump you because it will push your speed up where you’ll eventually be ready to pass the next car. As soon as you pass your first car, you should work fast to get into the first position. When you do, constantly look in your rearview mirror and block. When you hear the Nitro boost kicking in for your opponents, make sure you either match it or get in his way.
