The Skinny on Psychonauts
Released in April 2005 in the US, Psychonauts for the Xbox and PS2 was widely hailed as one of the most original, most innovative, and funniest titles of the year. You are Razputin, a kid who has run away from the circus to join an elite corps of special agents who use psychic powers to keep the world safe.
Powers of the Mind
While developing your psychic abilities at Camp Whispering Rock, strange(r than normal) things start to happen to your fellow cadets. It's up to you to find out what's happening, and to do so you'll have to employ all the psychic powers at your command.
Armed with powers of Levitation, Pyrokinesis, and Clairvoyance (to name a few), you'll journey through bizarre dreamscapes as you enter the minds of those around you searching for answers to your burning questions. Who is the Milkman? What is the purpose of the goggles? And why are people's brains disappearing?!
Creative Genius?
Designer Tim Schafer spent over a decade at LucasArts creating games like Full Throttle, Grim Fandango, and Day of the Tentacle. In 2000, he founded Double Fine Productions, a development studio which was recently awarded "Best New Studio" at the 2006 Game Developer's Conference. He brings his custom brand of astonishing creativity and abundant wit to Psychonauts, a Platform/Adventure game for Xbox and PS2.
