Pogo Games Site Review
From LoveToKnow VideoGames
EA (Electronic Arts) brings to life Pogo.com, a free game site ala Yahoo! Games. While it doesn't have nearly as many games as some competitors, Pogo has more than enough quality titles to keep you coming back for more.

Card and Board Games
Freebie Casino
For all you compulsive gamblers out there, thereâs the Freebie Casino, where the only thing youâll lose is precious hours of your life. Theyâre sub-categories for Slots and Video Poker, with a handful of games in each, and then games like roulette, blackjack, and poker fill out the rest of the casino. Seventeen games in total.Puzzle
Ah, the olâ puzzle genre. The meat and potatoes of free online gaming. Here youâll find old favorites like Alchemy and Collapse, as well as numerous others to suck up all of your free time while stimulating your brain muscles. Nice, varied selection. Thirteen games in total.Word
One of the smaller categories, but these games are addictive enough to compete with the big dogs. A lot of people might be familiar with Bookworm, but games like Tumble Bees and Word Whomp deserve their time in the spotlight too. Give games in total. The Rest
The last three categories Iâm going to lump together, as theyâre nothing like your typical free games. Theyâre a lot more âvideo gameâ than the rest, and I would assume itâs because thatâs what Electronic Arts is good at. You have Arcade, EA Sports, and Extreme sports. Arcade includes games such as The Sims Pinball and Command & Conquer: Armored Attack, where you drive a tank around and blow things up. EA Sports, you guessed it, is full of sports games, where Extreme Sports is full of less conventional sports games. These games are hit and miss, really. Some try too hard and overshoot that simple charm that makes these games what they are. There are a lot of them though. Each category, with the exception of Extreme sports, has a link you can click to access more.
Card and Board Games
This section has all your favorites such as chess, checkers, and dominoes, as well as some Pogo twists on old classics such as Rainy Day Spider Solitaire and Payday Freecell. Pretty standard stuff overall, but if that’s what you’re looking for, it’ll suit you fine. Twelve games in total.

Tokens
Pogo also has a nice little token system, that allows you to purchase different things with tokens that you win in the games. You can purchase clothes and accessories for your Pogo Mini, which is like a little virtual representation of yourself, as well as use your token to enter contests with real cash prizes. On top of that, whenever you get a jackpot spin in any Pogo game (which is often), you have a chance to win cash.
Wrap-Up
I won’t lie. With any free time I get, I find myself at Pogo. It doesn’t feel as cluttered or overbearing as Yahoo does and I’ve yet to find a game that I seriously dislike. If you’re bored and need something to do, Pogo is definitely the way to go.
Comments
We will let the people see, experiemce, and decide for themselves. I've been playing there from time to time for quite a long time as well, twelve years or more. I was playing there years before they were bought out by EA. It's not been the same since EA aquired the site. I'm not slamming EA here, they have a lot of good games that I own for PC and PS3, it's just that "Pogo" is a tool for generating revenue, that's all it is. 97% of the games there will put you to sleep, and I often get up at night and go to Pogo to play their games, so I can get sleepy and go back to bed. And it's NOT worth $39.95 per year. I paid for a years subscription and now I feel ripped off. But if you enjoy this kind of activity,...bogus jackpots, people calling you vile names, then when you defend yourself YOU get banned, dull mindless games of pure luck that will have you yawning in fifteen minutes, people in cliques, just like in highschool and they act like it to, then Pogo might just be the place for you. Try it folks!
