The concept of this hidden objects game is simple. Recently, you have been accepted to attend the Magic Academy. When you arrive, you discover that your sister -- who had began her studies there shortly before you -- has disappeared! You need to solve the mystery and try to locate her on the school castle grounds. If you are a fan of the Harry Potter series, Magic Academy will seem familiar with the strikingly similar characters you encounter throughout the game.

How do you play Magic Academy? Basically, it is a point and click game. Each room section has two main parts: a dialog section with another character that communicates with you through a text box, and a scavenger hunt section where you will locate missing items.

Each character you encounter will give you information, but the task they give you is always to find hidden objects. The hidden items will be located in a single room. There are a couple ways this job will be presented to you:

  • Find objects from a text list: Try to find items based on the item’s name.
  • Find objects by shape: Look around the room and try to find a perfect match for the items on the list.

Each time you go on these scavenger hunts, you will have a limited amount of time to complete the level. To help you out, Magic Academy offers an occasional hint. The clue given lets you know where one of the hidden objects is located. However, don’t rely too much on these since additional hints will not be presented until an allotted amount of time has passed.

Other Tasks

Magic Academy also offers some addictive puzzles for you to solve. Consistent with the main object finding tasks, they all have a time limit.

  • Compare the Differences- In this puzzle, your screen is divided in half. Each side is similar, with some objects out of place. Your task is to find the items so that each half matches perfectly before your limited time is up. Like the scavenger hunt tasks, you will have access to occasional hints.
  • Concentration – You will see rows of cards that are face down. Find matching pairs of images so they will disappear, leaving a large picture left behind. The picture is a clue that will help you get closer to solving the mystery of your sister’s disappearance.
  • Picture Puzzle- In this scenario, put together an image with square block pieces that can be moved around anywhere in its rectangular shaped puzzle area.
  • Fix the Mixed Up Puzzle – Instead of moving puzzle pieces around to different locations, turn them clockwise until they are in the right position. If completed, you will see a nice image.
