How To Install PS3 Themes

From Your PlayStation 3

1. Go to the website with the theme you want from your PS3 browser
2. When you find your theme, download it
3. Save it in the Photos folder
4. Next, go to Settings, Theme, then Themes
5. Your recently download theme should be there
6. Click on it, and hit apply

From Your PC

1. Go to the website with the theme you want
2. Click on the download link
3. Click Save
4. On a flash drive or SD card, make a folder called PS3 (all caps)
5. In that folder, make another folder called THEME (all caps)
6. Save the .pt3 file in the THEME folder
7. Put the card or flash drive in your PS3
8. Go to themes and click install
9. Find your theme in the THEME folder and hit apply

If you don't find something to your liking, you can download their PS3 Theme Creator to make your own themes. With the largest selection of PlayStation themes on the Internet, you'll surely be able to find something to fit your style.

Best PS3 Themes

Best PS3 Themes is a simple site with over 2,000 PS3 themes available for download. You can search for themes or navigate the site through the theme headings. Using their PS3 Theme Builder, you can also make your own creations. This program is a little easier to use than the PS3 Theme Creator, but you won't be able to create as much detail as you can with the above program. If you are just starting out with PS3 theme creation, then start with PS3 Theme Builder.

PS3 Vault

At PS3 Vault, you have access to hundreds of cool PS3 themes as well as media you can use to create your own themes. The site relies on the basis that the content will be rated and promoted so that more themes will be uploaded and that users help add to the site. There are some nice themes on the site but since it is a smaller section of the main site, there aren't as many as the above mentioned websites.

This message board at Playstation.com has a good collection of links where you can find official PS3 themes and user created ones. Also, if you don't have time to create a theme, you can make requests on what you'd like to see completed.

Official Theme Compiler and Tutorial

Firmware 2.0

Make sure that you have the firmware 2.0 update, because without it, you won't be able to utilize themes to customize your PS3 and possibly create your own. The firmware update allows you to install them onto your PS3. It's fun to customize electronic playthings like iPods and PSPs, as well as to customize the actual hardware like you can with the Nintendo DS. This makes them your own and your equipment isn't just like everybody else's. Don't be a follower... be a customizer.
