PS3 Oblivion Walkthrough
From LoveToKnow VideoGames
This popular RPG game can be pretty darn challenging, so that's why we have put together this PS3 Oblivion walkthrough. You may have already conquered Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, but you're in the fourth installment of the series now and the ante has definitely been upped.
PS3 Oblivion Walkthrough
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is widely applauded as one of the absolute best role playing games in the world. It was previously released on PC and the Xbox 360, but it is now also a PlayStation 3 game, boasting improved graphics and sound. The gameplay remains relatively unchanged and that is definitely a good thing!
Let's get our feet wet in this adventure and see what a PS3 Oblivion walkthrough has to offer.
Choosing the Right Character Race
Right from the beginning, you'll have to choose your video game character. Each race has certain advantages, disadvantages, and characteristics that may or may not suit your particular preferences. Be sure to look at their varying attributes and appearances before making your final decision.
There are 10 character races in all and you have the opportunity to choose either a male or a female character. The ten races are: Imperial, Khajiit, Nord, Orc, Redguard, Wood Elf, Argonian, Breton, Dark Elf, and High Elf. The attributes that these races have in the beginning aren't that different, but they become amplified as the game progresses.
Each race also has special abilities. For example, the Imperial gains in 30 Charm once a day, whereas the Nord gains 50 Frost Damage each day. The skill bonuses are also different, so choose wisely.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Main Quest
Elder Scrolls: Oblivion has one main quest, which we will cover below, as well as several side quests including Anvil, Bruma, and Chorrol. We'll let you explore those side quests on your own.
On to the main quest!
- Complete the tutorials.
- Deliver the Amulet: Go to Weynon Priory and enter Weynon House. Give the amulet to Jauffre.
- Find the Heir: Jauffre will tell you about Martin, the illegitimate son of the late emperor. Ask about assistance to receive additional items. Go to Kvatch and find the refugee camp. Talk to Hirtel and Boldon. Head up the path towards the city and fight the Daedra. Rescue the Count and others.
- Breaking the Siege of Kvatch: Head to Oblivion Gate and then go west and take the lower path to your right. Arrive at a large open area at the tower bases and head east to The Blood Feast tower. Ascend the tower, then take the door to the Corridors of Dark Salvation. Enter the Reapers Sprawl, go up the ramp, and talk to the Kvatch guard locked in the cage. Talk to him, then re-enter the Corridors of Dark Salvation. Use the key to open the door on the north side. Use the red portal to teleport. Unlock the door to the east and enter the middle room after the ramp. Keep going until you are teleported outside Oblivion. Charge in to the city then talk to Savlian Matius for final instructions.
- Weynon Priory: Talk to Brother Martin. Defend Weynon Priory against the attackers. Enter the house by Brother Piner. Walk into the secret door opened by Jauffre and talk to him. Go to Cloud Ruler Temple after heading out.
- The Path of Dawn: Speak to Jauffre and join the Blades Order. Go to the Imperial City Elven District, arriving at Luther Broad's Boarding House. Talk to Baurus and tell him that you are ready. Head down in to the cellar and kill the attacker, searching his body for a book. Find Tar-Meena at the Arcane University and show her the book. She may be in the lobby of the tower or in the Mystic Archives if you are a high-ranking Mage. Go to the Market District and enter the First Edition bookstore to retrieve volume 3.
These are only the first few sections, getting about a quarter of the way through the main quest. Will you be able to complete the PS3 Oblivion challenge on your own?
