To sign up, go to their website and click on their “Create Account” link. Next, there is a promotional page where you can get a free subscription to a game magazine for a year (or not). You then enter your email and create a password. Once completed you get to select a plan of your choosing and payment information. Once your account is set up, you can log in and select games into your queue. The game(s) you select (depending on your plan) will be sent to you by first class mail based on their availability. Is GottaPlay worth your time?
Based on the information given on their website, the only good deal is the “Weekend Warrior Pass” of one game at a time for $12.95. The other plans are a bit higher than some of their other competitors (like Gamelender ). Also, they seem to have less variety of games. I do like, however, that they have multiple distribution centers for faster shipping. No one wants to wait too long for their most wanted game(s). Overall, I would say continue to shop around for other online rental places if you want to have access to multiple games.

I tried this service with their free trial during which time I did not receive a single game. I cancelled my account before the trial was over. I then began getting emails from them about a month later about an unpaid balance. I tried emailing several times and their costomer service phone number which is a joke. I continued to receive emails about the unpaid balance until finally they sent it to a collection agency. I never received a single game. Their selection of available games is rediculously small. their is no customer service. Stay away!!!
-- Contributed by: ClarkIF YOU READ THIS, DO NOT SIGN UP FOR GOTTA PLAY. I HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH BAD SERVICE. FIRST OF ALL, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT. IF YOU CALL THEIR NUMBER, ALL YOU GET IS AN AUTOMATED ANSWERING MACHINE THAT SAYS TO CHECK THEIR WEBSITE. WHEN YOU CHECK THEIR WEBSITE YOU CAN SEND THEM MESSAGES. HOWEVER, THEY DO NOT RESPOND TO YOU. I HAVE EMAILED THEM MORE THAN 5 TIMES, AND NONE OF THEM HAVE BEEN RESPONDED.
MY EXPERIENCE? CHARGED TWO MONTHS OF SUBSCRIPTION AND 50$ FOR A GAME I NEVER RECEIVED. I GOT NOTHING OUT OF THEM, AND THEY TOOK MY MONEY. I REGRET NOT READING THE REVIEWS ONLINE BEFORE SIGNING UP. IF YOU LOOK AT OTHER WEBSITES, THERE ARE LOTS OF OTHERS WHO ARE GETTING RIPPED OFF AS WELL.
THE SHIPPING TIME IS EXTREMELY SLOW TOO. I KNOW BECAUSE I HAVE A FRIEND WHO SIGNED UP RECENTLY AND THEY TOOK 15 DAYS TO SEND ONE GAME. THIS IS RIDICULUS. SOMEONE SHOULD TAKE THEM DOWN...SERIOUSLY. ITS BAD ENOUGH WITH THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS.
BOTTOMLINE: AVOID GOTTA PLAY AT ALL COST.
I joined gottaplay a game I returned was lost in mailing, I reported it to gottaplay did all I was supposed to do. They then sent me my next game and when I returned the game they again said that they did not receive it so I filed another claim with the post office, they finally received it a month later. In both cases I reported it to the post office got a case # that they required me to do. I had 6 or 7 games in my gamebox and all of them were long wait. After looking at who might be playing the games I was seeking some of them had no one playing them and I could be the first to play it, but yet it still said there was a long wait which led me to believe that they did not really have the game in their stock at any of the 9 locations. So I canceled my service because they had no games available to give me that were on my gamebox. A month after I canceled my service they charged me for the lost game even though when you read the agreement as long as you report it to them and the USPS you will not be charged. If you are thinking about going with this game rental service I would think twice the savings in fee is not worth it in the long run.
