Nintendogs

Keyboard Secret

When you go out on walks, check the local store for a special keyboard item. Buy it, take it home and play around with it. Hold B to drop the sounds an octave, or hold X to raise them.

Nintendogs Trainer Tips

  • Speak clearly to your puppy and avoid using similar sounding words. Shake and Sneeze may be logical trick names, but sometimes your pooch can get confused. Try more creative names like Wiggle, Gimme Paw, Achoo or Gesundheit. Not only will you sound crazier when you shout these at your DS, but your pet will understand you better too.
  • Happy puppies find better gifts while out for a walk. Brush, bathe and keep your puppy fed to pick up some better presents while you're out and about.
  • If you want the fast road to owning several puppies, make your first pet a larger breed such as a Labrador or German Shepherd. After he/she gets comfortable with you, head to the park with a frisbee and start practicing. As soon as you're ready, hit the Frisbee Competition to earn some nice cash for a second dog.
  • Although not as adrenaline pumping as the Frisbee or Agility Trials, the Obedience trial offers the largest cash reward for first prize. Make good friends with your dog to rake in the dough.
  • You may think "oh wow, its been 15 minutes! I can take my dogs out again now!!" Think again; your dogs will eventually get tired if you walk them too often. Tired pups find garbage instead of presents on the street. Instead, go for just a few walks a day, no more than four or five.
  • Each time your puppy learns a trick, immediately test it out. Say the trick's name clearly into the microphone. If s/he gets it right, throw out a treat or give a good head scratching as a reward. Practice up fo rthe Obedience Trial, you'll need it!

Yellow Treat

While you are in your home and have time with your puppie, begin to pet it for a few minutes. This will of course excite your dog and make it happy. Once it is happy enough, a small yellow doggy treat will appear at it's side. Grab it and drag the treat to the dog's mouth. It will eat the treat and become even happier. The more you perform this trick, the more the treats will appear. This will also slowly add trainer points to your total. Note: This same trick will happen with the lightbulb that appears when your dog reacts to a new trick.

Longer Walks

This trick will allow your dog to go on constant walks without tiring. Take your dog out for a walk with a park as one of the stops. When you arrive, switch out the item that your dog is wearing. The game will automaticlly save. Turn off your DS and turn back on the power. Repeat this trick as many times as you need. The more you walk, the more rare gifts you will find.
