Nintendo DS Games for Younger Children
From LoveToKnow VideoGames
While the main list of DS games is pretty large, a list of Nintendo DS games for younger children is a bit smaller. Whether you believe it or not, the DS is geared towards younger children. Therefore, many of the DS games are easy, have non-violent atmospheres, and have themes that are good for children to play.
Action/Adventure Games
- Animal Crossing Wild World. The world in this game is virtual, but you go about your daily life as if it were real. The clock moves in real-time so everything happens like in real life. With the microphone, you can talk to other plays in Wild World.
- Kirby. Any of the Kirby games for the DS are cute and fun to play. Kirby is a simple blob who likes to eat things and has the ability to obtain special powers from the things he eats. It's a platformer with levels just hard enough for a challenge, but easy enough not to cause frustration.
- Lego Batman, Lego Indiana Jones, and Lego Star Wars. Any one of these three games appeals to younger children. Each game sports environments and characters made from Lego pieces and storylines that follow the movies. One of the best reasons that children will enjoy the games is that you never die. You can lose a life, but even if you run out of lives, you just start over with more lives.
- New Super Mario Bros. Getting a Nintendo DS game for younger children that is a classic lets them play games that are basic and fun, yet challenging. The levels are short and children must figure out how to collect everything in order to unlock everything. This is easily one of the best Nintendo DS games for younger children.
