Mii Parade
From LoveToKnow VideoGames
The Mii Parade is a function of the Mii Channel on the Wii console that is located on the main screen when you boot up the system. The channel is your portal to creating, editing and transferring Miis or anything to do with Miis.
What is the Mii Parade?
The Mii Parade lets you add your friend's Miis to your Wii console so that they can live in your system. At this point, you can let them sit there to "parade" around your screen or you can transfer them to the Mii Plaza. Once they are in your Mii Plaza, you can use them in any Mii compatible games like Wii Sports or Wii Sports Resort.
If you decide to leave the Mii in the parade, they will organize themselves nicely when you leave the Mii Channel in parade mode.
How to Setup Your Mii for Parading
The very first thing you do is to make sure that your Mii is set to Mingle. You may not have known what that meant the first time you created a Mii and may have set it to off. To check the Mingle status, go to the main screen of the Wii and select the Mii Channel. Once in the channel click on the Edit Mii, then the Mii you want to edit. Optionally, you can hold the B button, select your Mii with the A button and drag it to the Edit Mii icon. This screen should look familiar. If you are not on the initial screen with your nickname and gender, then click the very first icon in the upper left corner. On the right-hand side is a box that says Mingle. Make sure is says ON and then click Save and Quit.
Once your Mii can Mingle, you have two ways to get the Mii into the Mii Parade.
- Using the Wii Remote, you can store up to 10 Miis inside and then physically take your remote to a friend's house (or vice versa) and unload them onto your system. To do that, go back into the Mii Channel and into the Mii Plaza. Click the Wii Remote button and if you have more than one remote on, pick which one you are going to use. Find the Mii you want to store and hold A and B and drag it to an open slot at the top of the screen. Do this until you all the Miis you want to move are up there and click Save & Quit. When you connect your remote to your friend's system or your friend's remote to your system, you will perform the reverse process and drag the Miis from the Wii remote slots into the Mii Plaza.
- The second way to get Miis into the Mii Parade is to register Wii numbers. To get your Wii number, go to the Wii Message Board and pick Address Book. A little notebook pops up with any registered friends or it will be blank if you don't have any registered. Go to page one of the address book and press A on the left blue arrow. Your number appears, which you will give to your friend. Your friend will give you theirs. To register the Wii Code, click register and then Wii. Input the code. If you are using this method, ensure that the WiiConnect24 is turned on so that access to the Internet is possible.
It takes a couple of days for any Miis set to Mingle to appear.
Plaza to Parade
Any Miis that appear in the Parade can be moved over to the Plaza, but the Plaza can only hold up to 100 Miis. At least the Parade can hold more and you have the option of switching out Miis at will. Whatever your use of the Mii Parade, the most important thing to remember is that each Mii must be set to Mingle... otherwise, your Mii may never have any friends!
