Medal of Honor Airborne

From LoveToKnow VideoGames

The Medal of Honor series of World War II-themed first-person shooter games was first launched in 1999. The games are widely credited with spawning the genre of war FPS games. The franchise has since sold over 27 million units worldwide, and now publisher EA (Electronic Arts) is expanding the games one step further.

Medal of Honor Airborne

In mid-January EA announced Medal of Honor Airborne, the newest installment in the critically-acclaimed series. The game continues the tradition of historically accurate gameplay while introducing new interactive experiences never before seen in the series. And best of all, Airborne is set to hit two of the next-generation console systems this winter: the Sony PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

About Medal of Honor Airborne

Medal of Honor Airborne was developed with the utmost care to detail and authenticity. The team of developers worked closely with expert sources to ensure the historical accuracy of the game. Captain Dale Dye, the Military Technical Advisor for the previous Medal of Honor games, is again onboard for Airborne to ensure this latest installment is true to both the series and to World War II technology.

You are Boyd Travers, Private First Class of the 82nd Airborne Division. From your beginning skirmishes in Sicily to the turning-point battles in Germany, each mission is more realistic and intense than the last. View the entire operation from the air before dropping yourself in the thick of action where you must quickly set your bearings and make your decisions.

A large selection of authentic weapons are available, perfect for the free-roaming gameplay of this shooter. You determine the starting point of each mission and it's up to you to obtain victory. The environments are startlingly realistic, especially on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions.

Release and Systems

Medal of Honor Airborne is scheduled for a release in the winter of 2006 for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2 systems, Xbox 360 and Xbox systems and for the Windows PC. Price and ESRB ratings have not yet been set.
