Madden Football Franchise

EA Sports' Madden Football games are legendary. The football franchise has been one of the most successful in the video game industry and EA Sports is releasing the highly anticipated 16th in the series: Madden NFL 2006.

Not only has Electronic Arts been the market leader in football games with Madden, they have now locked up the NFL license for years, leaving their competitors in the dust. Madden has the NFL teams, players and the ESPN announcers all on a shiny disc for you, the diehard football video game player.

What's New in 2006?

The newest Madden game reportedly has big changes, all for the better. Some of the new features include a vision cone to show the field of vision when quarterbacks drop back to pass. Receivers now have more realistically individualized skills and offensive ground games have been improved with the addition of the "truck stick" feature on the right analog stick. Madden 2006 offers slide protection to give the player more control over the blocking scheme, solving some play problems that still existed in Madden 2005.

EA Sports and Tiburon have taken full advantage of their new licensing relationship with the NFL and the game uses music from the NFL films archives. The music has been remixed by hip-hop producers Da Riffs for a fresh flavor. Wondering if the players are realistic looking? Many of the top NFL players had their heads scanned for Madden 2006.

The soundtrack for the newest Madden game includes chart-topping musicians with tracks from Foo Fighters, Godsmack, RevRun, Fall Out Boy and rap artist Memphis Bleek.

Songs by other performers include:

"When I get angry" by Spider Loc

"Get it started" by Slim Thug

"Pickin it up" by Hot Hot Heat

"Streetcar" by Funeral for a Friend
