About Legion: The Legend of Excalibur
Legion: The Legend of Excalibur is an action/adventure game where you play different heroic characters to help King Arthur bring peace to the lands and stop Morgan le Fay and others who want to destroy Camelot. Play Merlin, Sir Galahad, Nimue or Percival in individual missions or as a group. Use all your might and magic to succeed in your quests.
Difficulty Levels/Modes of Play
There is only one level of difficulty when you start the game. After its completion, a more challenging level opens up. Legion: The Legend of Excalibur is a single player game only, and offers no additional modes of play.
Each character you can play has different strengths and abilities. For instance, Sir Galahad has a healing spell, a Holy attack and Haste. Merlin the Wizard has a Meteor, Fire, and Poison attacks. Nimue has a Frost, Ice, and Lightning attacks. Percival has a Healing, Lightning and a defense dome that temporarily provides invincibility to any allied troop within the dome.
Fun Factor
Legion is an adventure game filled with missions. You spend a lot of time battling enemies and defending territories. Each mission gets progressively more difficulty with larger scores of enemies and challenges. A good part of the game is that you can play the different characters during gameplay. It is fun to try out their different abilities. My favorite character is Merlin. His spells are powerful and cool to watch. But you do have to watch it when it comes to melee combat. Enemies love to surround him if they get a chance. I hate that.
The missions are very challenging in this game. Many times you have protect the castle from being overpowered by enemy armies, or a protect an important person from getting killed. Sometimes wit and cunning is necessary to figure out how to complete these levels. I think I repeated Mission 6 (Camelot Siege) about a dozen times.
Melee combat is a little difficult to learn. It is all about rhythm. The sword swinging takes a bit getting used to. For effective combat, it is necessary to learn how to do it properly.I had a tough time with this in the beginning of the game. It was a little frustrating for me, and I kept getting my butt kicked. But eventually I got the gist of it.
Audio/Video
The music soundtrack is very dramatic, like a soundtrack for a great action movie. The video quality is pretty good. I like the detail in the armor and weapons. However, some of the areas you explore are a little plain at times.
Summary
Legion: The Legend of Excalibur is an action/adventure game where you play five different characters to help King Arthur in his quest to bring peace to the lands of Camelot. Play as Merlin, Sir Galahad, Nimue or Percival as a team or individually. Learn various attacks and spells. Master the rhythm of sword parrying. Keep the lands of Camelot safe. Stop Morgan le Fey and others who would destroy all that King Arthur has built.
