About Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders
Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders is an action-packed RPG/strategy game filled with battles between Elves, Orcs, Vells and others. Set in a medieval atmosphere, you fight with sword, bows and Elemental magic. Control armies and fight the Dark Legions who seek to control the powerful artifact known as the Ancient Heart. It is a single-player game you can play at home or online with Xbox Live. Make the decisions that will make or break the outcome of the success of your missions. Let the battle begin!!
Difficulty Level/Modes of Play
There are three levels of difficulty. In the Easy level, you play Gerald, the human Hironeiden. In Normal level, you play Lucretia a Vellond of the Dark Region. In the Hard level, you can play Regnier, a Hexter of the Dark Legion. However, to play the Hard level you must beat the game in the Normal level.
There is a single-player mode in stand alone and online play by using Xbox Live.
Is This Game Any Good?
Offering challenging battle scenarios with armies of Infantry, Archers, Spearman and Sappers with up close and personal combat, Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders will provide hours of enjoyment for strategy and RPG gamers. The Training section is an invaluable place to learn how to get familiar with troop commands and abilities. Spend some time there, since some of the abilities aren’t very intuitive and you will need to get used to the controls.
Completing missions gives you points and money to spend on leveling up, adding new skills, and buying new weapons and armor. Some of the cool abilities you can learn are elemental attacks including: Lightning, Fire, Ice, and Earth.
Sometimes gameplay can be a little difficult. Giving directions to your troops takes a little practice, but once you get it, combat situations will be easier to control. Also, it may be a good idea to adjust your controller and camera options to your preferences if the default settings frustrate you.
Graphics
The graphics in Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders are high quality and very detailed. Combat is bloody and fierce. Plated armor and melee weapons look like polished metal. Only during the brief video segments do the characters look a little plain faced, but that should not deter you from this game.
Audio
A heavy rock music soundtrack plays in the background while you play The Crusaders. Very cool, but doesn’t exactly fit the time period. The character voices are good, but some of the dialog is a little corny.
Worth It?
As an action-packed, medieval strategy/RPG game, The Crusaders is top notch. Control armies of Infantry, Archers, Spearman and Sappers. Use melee weapons, bows and Elemental magic. Train to prepare yourself for intense battle situations. Upgrade your skills to give you the edge to succeed in your missions. Fight the Dark Legions and prevent them from getting the Ancient Heart, a powerful artifact with evil properties. Listen to hard rock music while battling Orcs, Elves and Vells. Make the decisions that will determine the fate of your lands. Do you have what it takes to be a great medieval military troop leader? Try this game and find out!!
