Where do I Download Guitar Hero Explorer?

The Guitar Hero games have amazed video gamers by allowing them to play classic and hard rock songs with a guitar controller. However, those of us who have played them all or just want more may want to download the Guitar Hero Explorer.

Be prepared for a bit of work. The program is not easy to use and requires a 12-step process along with downloading 8 freeware programs. You will also need a modded PlayStation 2 in order for it to work properly. Still interested?

Here’s where you can download this program:

What You Will Need to Use Ghex

Here’s an idea of what you will need to use the Guitar Hero Explorer:

  • Quality burnable DVDs (DVD-R or DVD+R)
  • Your favorite rock songs in MP3 format
  • The following programs: GHero Utils, Guitar Hero Explorer, Audacity, MF Audio, Anvil Studio, CD-DVD Generator, Apache, and ISO burning software (like Nero or DVD Decrypter)
  • A modified PlayStation 2. You will need the program Swap Magic or a Mod Chip, as well as a method to boot burned discs on your PlayStation 2.

If you are not familiar with creating note charts, you will need to learn how to do it. Get full instructions here.

Expand Your Horizons

For those ambitious Guitar Hero rockers out there, the Guitar Hero Explorer is a way to expand your existing song lists. With the right software, MP3 songs, DVDs, a modded PlayStation 2, and knowledge of how to create note charts, you will be on your way to playing your favorite songs in no time!

Is there, by any chance, a step by step process for this, as in: what to download, where to get it, how to modify the PS2, etc?

RJ: go to the first link scorehero.com. It seems to be the most reliable. At the bottom of the first post, you can find the two programs you need.
