Hints and Tips
- In combat, Kratos will encounter all kinds of monsters with different fighting abilities. Use the block button (L1) frequently to evade damage. As you battle, watch how your enemies move, usually there is a pattern to their attacks.
- To avoid being ambushed or surrounded by creatures, roll with the right analog stick to evade enemies and get out of difficult situations.
- Kratos will encounter many interesting places in his quest, so explore everything. Use the R2 button to look at pictures, statues, signs etc. They may give you clues to solve some of the challenging puzzles in the game.
- Maximize the amount of damage you can inflict on your enemies by upgrading Poseidon’s Rage to the highest level as quickly as possible. Your combos and attacks will benefit from the awesome power of Poseidon’s gift.
- When battling major monsters and bosses in God of War, try to exploit their weakness by experimenting with different attack combos and magic.
- You will encounter a room that appears to be occupied by an unlimited supply of Harpies that you cannot seem to get rid of. See the cracks in the walls where they come out? Block these cracks with the statues at the north end of the room. Once you do that you will be able to continue without much difficulty.
- Want Kratos to move even faster? Push the right analog stick up to go forward and press R1 for a Hermes Rush shoulder charge. Repeat this and increase his speed further.
Cheat Codes
Infinite ammunition – Pause the game and press- select, select, circle, circle, R1, R1, and press start.
Upgrade all weapons – Go to the weapons menu then press L2, L1, R2, R1, circle, Square, circle, and L1.
Infinite Experience – In the Pandora’s Temple quest, there are a series of stone walls that you can climb. At the very top is a Harpie that screams and spits out blood (red orb experience) for as long as you are up there.
Cool Air Combat moves – Cyclone of Chaos- L1 + Square button, and Falling Helios - L1 + Triangle

Gaigantor: Try this... When the enemies are toast, search the area for a red & green orb chest, plus one near the exit that has two types ('combo'). Continue down the hall to a room with lots of pillars. Two stand on breakable crates and one conceals the exit. The lowest one in the corner leads to the middle; at this point, jump to the one near the wall to find another Gorgon Eye/magic chest half-hidden out of sight. Find the red-orb chest on top of a pillar, climb the ladder and
walk carefully to the next pillar, and reach the exit from there. Whew! There is another red-orb chest on top of the highest pillar, also.
