Electronic Arts (EA) Locks Down Tiger Woods

Very few would challenge the assertion that EA (Electronic Arts) produces some super high quality sports games. With a long tradition of ultra realistic gameplay, and a library that includes NBA Live, NHL, and more, it seems that the video game developer has locked down exclusive video game rights to Tiger Woods.
Some time back, EA bought the exclusive rights to the NFL (National Football League), putting Acclaim's Quarterback Club franchise into the dark. Gamers now have no choice but to turn to the Madden series for their official NFL licensed fix.
While EA has now signed Tiger Woods to a six-year contract, they do not have the exclusive rights to the PGA (Professional Golfers' Association). What this means is that other companies can still produce video games featuring the likenesses of other PGA personalities, but they cannot have Tiger Woods in their game.
These days, golf just isn't the same without Tiger... that is, unless you look to Nintendo and Mario Golf.
