EA Sports presents Arena Football
From LoveToKnow VideoGames
EA (Electronic Arts) knows sports. They hold the video game rights to the National Football League for several more years. They're responsible for many high-profile sports video games, including the Madden series and any game with Tiger Woods in the title. Their sports games are so realistic, they even ran a Superbowl simulation game that was surprisingly accurate.
And now, with a partnership with Arena Football League (AFL), Arena Football promises to deliver a new experience in sports games. The AFL is the second-longest running football league in the U.S. It's known for being a fan-friendly sport and is America's fastest-growing spectator game. And with Arena Football for the PS2 and Xbox, it could be a gamer's favorite as well.
New Football Features
New features for an EA Sports game include the "Be the Receiver" mode where players control their receiver from the snap, create their own running routes and attempt to catch the pass.
A new Telemetry system lets players track scoring history, player tendencies, fatigue and more, all in real-time, so you can take advantage of your opponents weaknesses.
Franchise Mode lets players take their favorite AFL team and build them into a winning property by managing everything from depth charts, signing free agents and trading players. You can create your own team or choose from over 30 unlockable historic teams such as the Anaheim Piranhas or the Iowa Barnstormers.
If you want a unique football experience, be sure to check out Arena Football. It's available now for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox systems.
