Hints
BLOOD VISION
Click the right analog stick to activate your blood vision, which allows you to see enemies and usable doorways more clearly.
RAPID FIRE
Hold down the right trigger to rapid fire the pistols. Also works when dual-wielding them.
DEFEATING BANSHEES
As annoying as these ladies are, the banshees are easy to defeat. All you have to do is shoot them in the head. With a pistol, it will take two shots; with any other weapon, one. It's easiest to let them get up close unless you’re a crack shot at long range.
DARK MARKS
These evil trees will pop up, releasing multitudes of enemies at you continuously. Go for the tree. Forget the enemies. After the tree is dead, all the enemies will disappear.

Power-Ups
Throughout the game, you'll encounter victims of the bloodlust of Lazarus and his minions. You'll have two options to choose from at this point. One, you can release the victim of his or her pain (Good Deed) or you can take the victim's soul for your own (Bad Deed). Depending on your choice, you can unlock certain power-ups you can use to defeat enemies. Once your Vision Level fills up, you can activate the power-up by pressing the black button on your controller.
GOOD DEEDS
Silver Bullet: Unlimited and more powerful bullets for a short time.
Fear: Some enigmas will run scared for a short time.
Mystic Armor: Strong armor (possible 0 damage) for a short time.
Vindicator: Shoots a chain of lighting that instantly destroys most small monsters.
BAD DEEDS
Blood Frenzy: Adds a supernatural boost to hand-to-hand combat. Turns some enemies against each other for a short period of time.
Black Shroud: Covers you in a black shroud of darkness that hurts enemies when they attack for a short time.
Soul Stealer: Sucks the souls right out of living enemies (can be used at a distance).
Immortal Friends: No matter how many times you shoot Cassidy or Tala, they will not die.
Defeating Lazarus
Really, the only difficult fight is near the end, when fighting Lazarus. At the beginning of the town is a Carbine weapon. Pick it up. Run down a ways and on the left is a small room with a pistol. Pick it up to dual wield. Switch over to the carbine and start shooting. When he whips fireballs at you, dodge them. Don’t shoot them and waste bullets. Use all your bullets for Lazarus. When your carbine runs out, pull out your two pistols and fire away. Use rapid fire when you can, it will make killing him faster.
When 1/3 of his life is down, he’ll pause and send some minions after you. Use this time to gather weapons (keeping the dual pistols in your inventory) and ammunition. If you can, head over the a tall building in the middle against the wall and grab the shotgun.
When 2/3 of his life is down, he’ll pause again and send more guys to hurt you. But you and your Jericho Cross don’t take that crap. Grab more weapons, etc. Next, Lazarus will open the gate and the fight moves to the bridge. It’s hard to maneuver around the fireballs, so double jump over them. There are a few weapons scattered about, but the double pistols with rapid fire is the best way to go.
