Cubis is your standard match-the-color-blocks puzzler, but in 3D, so the blocks are called cubes. And you place the cubes. And there are special cubes that do special things. You know what, it’s nothing standard at all.

Cubis is your standard match-the-color-blocks puzzler, but in 3D, so the blocks are called cubes. And you place the cubes. And there are special cubes that do special things. You know what, itâs nothing standard at all.
Gameplay
In Cubis, you are given a 7 x 7 grid panel. At the start of each level this grid contains a certain number of colored cubes strew about, and every so often a couple of unmovable cement cubes as well. You are given a set number of cubes to clear within the time limit. You are able to shoot cubes from two sides of the grid. The objective is to get three or more cubes of the same color in a chain. Once you do, they disappear, and your âCubes to go" meter on the right goes down. Some of the cubes stack, and if you utilize a stack correctly and cause a falling cube to become part of another chain, that is called a âCubisâ, and you get bonus points. Also, when you shoot a cube at a cube that has nothing behind it (no other cubes), it pushes that cube back. This can also be utilized to acquire a âCubis.â Now, this might seem simple so far, but wait until I explain the various types of cubes.Cube Types
Normal Cube: Run-of-the-mill colored cube. Combine with two more of itâs color to banish from existence. Ramp Cube: A little ramp that, when shot at a cube, pushes that cube up and becomes a stack. Turns into a cube itself, afterwards. Broken Cube: Not part of your normal cube arsenal, broken cubes appear when a cube is vanished underneathed another cube and that cube falls and breaks. Broken cubes shatter if another cube is shot at them. Osmosis Cube: When shot at another cube, turns that cube into itâs own color. Turns into a cube itself, afterwards. Laser: Eradicates the first thing in itâs path. The only thing that can removes cement cubes. Using this rag-tag team of cubes, you must clear out the number of cubes specified on each level. While Cubis definitely has a certain charm, it really seems like it just tries to hard to rise above the standard puzzler game and ends up being sub-par. It will keep you occupied for a little bit while you discover what it has to offer, but when itâs all said and done, youâll move on in no time.Sight & Sound
The graphics in Cubis are a little more spiffy than your standard online puzzler, but that isnât saying much. They work for what they are. The 3d effect is simple yet effective. Itâs nothing special, but I canât imagine anyone expecting anything more from a free online game. The sound effects tend to get a little tedious over time. Different âclunkâ noises when cubes are shot around, and a futuristic little âzwingâ when some cubes disappear.Overall
All in all, Cubis is a run of the mill puzzler. Nothing more, nothing less. If youâre looking to kill time, there are better ways to do it. [[[Flip Words Review]]]Gameplay
