The Best Cheats for Wii Games
While it would impossible to list all the cheats for Wii games in this article, we have tried to provide you with some of the best cheat codes for some of the most popular games on the Nintendo Wii. Be sure to explore our cheat codes section for more helpful tips, hints, and tricks.
Mario Kart Wii
Get ready to race with Mario Kart Wii. Most people familiar with the Mario Kart franchise will know that you have an opportunity to unlock additional characters, karts, and courses by winning circuits. However, they may not know some of the following:
- Get a Star for Your Name: Have you noticed that some online players have a star next to their nicknames? You can earn a single star by finishing every Grand Prix circuit with a one-star rating. Get two-star ratings for a double-starred nickname and three-star ratings for a triple-starred nickname.
- Unlock Alternate Title Sreen: Complete every cup in first place gets you a different title screen and it also unlocks a new ending photo.
- Speed Boost After Falling: Did you fall off the stage? The moment you are placed back on the track, quickly hold the accelerator button and you should receive a small speed boost.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Some of the most popular cheats for Wii games are those for Super Smash Bros. Brawl. This is a great fighting game and it has some rather interesting Easter Eggs for you to enjoy.
- Hidden Conversations: Continually use the "down" taunt with the right character at the right stage and he will participate in a conversation mid-battle. Fox and Falco can do this at either Lylat Cruise or Corneria, Wolf can do this at Lylat Cruise, and Snake can do this at Shadow Moses Island.
- Change Character Colors: Did you know that you can choose your character's alternate color from the character selection screen? After picking your combatant, move your pointer over to them in your player slot and click. This also works for Pokemon Trainer where you can pre-select which Pokemon will start the battle.
Super Mario Galaxy
Although it wasn't included in any official Wii bundles like some of its older generation counterparts, Super Mario Galaxy has still become a beloved platformer starring everyone's favorite Italian plumber.
- Play as Luigi: Mario's brother has always lived in his shadow, so give him a chance to shine! Get all 120 stars, return to Rosalina on the Comet Observatory, and ask to fight Bowser again. After the credits, you will be told of Luigi's availability.
- The 121st Star: After unlocking Luigi and beating bowser, you will unlock the Grand Finale Galaxy (which you can access through the green trial planet). Collect 100 purple coins here.
Wii Fit
It may surprise you that there are cheats for Wii games that are designed for exercise. While it is possible to "cheat" during some of the exercises, those are not the cheats we are discussing today!
- Colored Piggy Banks: The piggy bank used to store your training time credits can actually change color. After you accumulate 10 hours of training, the Fitpiggy turns bronze. After 20 hours, it turns silver. Finally, after 40 hours, it turns gold.
- Ultimate Balance Test: Do you have an exceptional sense of balance? Prove it! From the training selection menu, you can see a Wii Balance Board running on a treadmill in the background. Click on it to launch the Ultimate Balance Test.
