Online Video Game Reviews
From LoveToKnow VideoGames
Since many people have come to rely on the Internet for all sorts of other things, it's not surprising that people are also interested in online video game reviews. Video games came along shortly after computers were created, so it's only natural that programmers turned their great intellects toward entertainment.
For years, most enthusiasts assumed that computer games had to be installed locally, but this changed very quickly with the rise of the Internet. Online video game reviews started popping up, because more players started to play their games online.
These online video games started to take on a range of different configurations and possibilities. For instance, there are free online puzzle web games that can be played right within a web browser with no direct installation. This added a great deal of convenience, since players would be able to enjoy these games anywhere they had an Internet connection.
Where online video game reviews get much more interesting is when players are able to interact with other players in real-time. This functionality existed well before the release of World of Warcraft, thanks to the multiplayer aspects of other games that preceded it.
For many of these earlier games, particularly in the shooter genre, players were able to participate in "deathmatches" with other gamers around the globe. World of Warcraft expanded greatly on this by being a persistent massive multiplayer online RPG. What this meant is that the game world continue to change and evolve, even when the gamer was not actively participating in it.
Online video games are equally popular on the home consoles. The PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii all offer online gaming in many of their respective titles. Playing offline just isn't the same anymore.
