The Absolute Best Games on the Xbox 360 Video Game System

Since the release of the Xbox 360, there has been a selection of interesting game titles. Whatever your preference, there is no mistaking the high quality graphics in each game. The detail is so intense that sometimes it can make our eyes water. Unlike the two-dimensional titles from the 80’s like Ms. Pacman, Centipede and Jungle Hunt, the visual presentation of video games has moved into a new level of greatness. Now let’s take a look at some of these great Xbox 360 titles that should not be missed.

Xbox 360

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion boxshot

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has been one of the most highly anticipated role-playing games since the release of the Xbox 360. This open-ended, vast game world leaves the level of intense play to you. Explore different locations, battle multiple creatures, solve puzzles, or just hang out in a town and chat with people. Like its predecessor (Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind) you have a lot of choices with character selection and skills. Play as a tough melee warrior, try your hand at magic, or even play as a dangerous assassin. It’s up to you! Graphics are simply incredible!! Gameplay is so smooth, that sometimes you may just want to wander around just to take in the scenery!! Oblivion is not a game you can finish in a couple of weeks. (I’m still playing it and I’ve had it for a couple months now). If you’re a fan of role-playing games, this title should not be missed.

Condemned: Criminal Origins

 Condemned: Criminal Origins boxshot

Condemned: Criminal Origins is an intense, creepy first-person shooter that will keep you up for many sleepless nights. It is one of the most graphic shooters I have seen in a long time. You are a serial killer investigator who is assigned to some very dark and gruesome locations. Just about anything you can think of to use as a weapon is available. With only a flashlight for light during the majority of the game, bad guys can sneak up and start attacking you at any time. You also have access to some cool gadgets that will help you with your detective work. When you play Condemned, the graphics in this game really make you feel like you are actually there! Try playing this game at night. It will really give you a scare.

Kameo: Elements of Power

Kameo: Elements of Power Boxshot

Kameo: Elements of Power was the first game released for the Xbox 360. This adventure/pseudo-role-playing game is a lot of fun. If you can get past the fact that you will be playing an Elvin fairy princess, you will really enjoy this game. Transform into a wide selection of weird elemental creature forms with really cool abilities. In many situations, you will have to determine the best elemental to achieve your goals. The graphics are very colorful and detailed, but a bit cartoonish. If you haven’t tried Kameo: Elements of Power, you may want to check this one out.

Perfect Dark Zero

 Perfect Dark Zero boxshot

Perfect Dark Zero is another great action/shooter game that should not be missed. Set in the year 2020, you play a bounty hunter who is sent on many dangerous missions. Filled with cool weapons and slick moves, Perfect Dark Zero will keep you on your toes!! You also have access to many different gadgets that will help you along the way. One in particular, the scope, is very useful when you are trying to stay hidden and move along in stealth. You can zoom in on locations that are a great distance from you, and can even take sniper shots at enemies.

Peter Jackson’s King Kong

King Kong game boxshot

Peter Jackson's King Kong game is highly addictive. Based on the blockbuster movie, it is an action/adventure game that follows the determined movie director who wants to make the greatest film of all time. He takes an actress, a scriptwriter and a couple of sea worthy chaps with him to Skull Island, an uncharted place shown on a mysterious map. The game begins when you crash land onto the island. Filled with prehistoric reptiles , savage islanders, and the 25-foot-tall King Kong, the action never stops, since you have to fight to survive. For weapons, you have limited access to guns and ammo, so you will spend the majority of your time using primitive spears and fire to keep yourself and your friends alive. Later in the game, you actually get to play as King Kong and use his brute strength to stop the enemies coming your way. Even though this is a game based on a movie, the intense nature of the game keeps you going. Consistent with the amazing graphics of all other Xbox 360 games so far, this one doesn’t fail to exceed the most discriminating gamer’s expectations.
