Best Rated Wii Games
From LoveToKnow VideoGames
Since the Nintendo Wii was released, the best rated Wii games have been those with multiplayer elements. Since the graphics aren’t as up to par with the PS3 or the Xbox 360, gameplay is what makes most Wii games some of the best out there and it is gameplay that Nintendo never seems to lack. Take a look at the following list of the high-rated games the Wii has to offer.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Super Smash Bros. Brawl lets you pick a character from many popular Nintendo games and fight against other popular Nintendo characters. Now you can see who the best mascot is. Mario, Kirby, Samus, Luigi, Bowser: they are all ready to fight at your beck and call. What makes this game one of the best rated Wii games is the pure fun that comes when you immediately start playing it. Not only do you fight in pixel grudge matches, there are also mini-games you can participate in like the previous Super Smash Bros.
Super Mario Galaxy
If you are nostalgic for some old school style gameplay, then Super Mario Galaxy might just be for you. While 3-D, the game plays like the 2-D Mario platformers of the past. Bowser has taken the Princess’ castle and sent it into space and it’s up to Mario to travel to worlds and stars in order to rescue her. Using the Wii’s unique control configuration, Super Mario Galaxy makes controlling a running, jumping, sliding, and flying Mario even more fun. And if you were afraid that the Nintendo Wii could never push graphics as good as the Xbox 360, then fear no more.
No More Heroes
Looking for a more adult-oriented game on the Wii? Then try No More Heroes. You play Travis Touchdown, a down-on-his-luck hitman looking to eliminate the top 10 hitmen (Travis is number 11). Instead of guns, you use a weapon that resembles a light-saber to dispatch your opponents. There is lots of blood and gore, which isn’t typical of a Nintendo game, but it is a welcome and unique style to the currently library of cutesy and party games. Created by Suda 51 of Killer 7 fame, No More Heroes can easily be your cut-em-up escape.
Mario Party 8
The word Party is in the name, so you know this is something fun to play, right? If you have played any of the other seven Mario Party’s, then you’ll be familiar with the upteen mini-games that you will play. The myriad of variety is why Mario Party 8 is a best rated Wii game. Who knows what kind of game you will play, so you will have to be on your toes at all times. This game is like Super Smash Bros. in that you can choose from Nintendo characters to play and a little different in the style of action.
Best Rated Wii Game: Wii Sports
So what if Wii Sports came bundled with the Nintendo Wii? You played it hardcore when you first opened your new system and you are probably playing it hardcore now. With such simple controls that utilized the uniqueness of the Remote and the Nunchuk, Wii Sports gave you a great introduction into Wii's revolutionary gameplay. The Wii is an awesome party console and the five games of Wii Sports supports that. Four-player tennis, party-time bowling, two-player baseball fun, physical boxing, and relaxing golf all show you what it's like in Nintendo's World.
I Give It a 10: You Can Game To it
Most of the best rated Wii games are either party games or games that include popular Nintendo characters, like Mario. Nintendo’s brand is out there and is strong as ever and it is unlikely gamers will give up on any game Nintendo releases. There are some duds, sure, but with each dud Nintendo has (can we say Ninjabread Man?), there are ten other games that you will become addicted to.
